Day 11 - 07/01/1998: Snow Report: Today we all headed off early from Ritsuko's brother's house. We all went in Ritsuko's brother's father-in-law's Toyota Tarago. All 8 of us, Ritsuko's brother, his wife, his two sons, his father-in-law, his sister-in-law, Ritsuko and I.
It was 154kms from their house to Shirakawa-go and with a maximum speed limit of 30kmh it took a long time to get there. When we arrived it was -4C and I was glad I borrowed Ritsuko's brother's jacket which I am wearing in the above photo. The locals told us we were lucky that this year the snow had not been so heavy or we would not been able to see the village this time of year.
