Inside the Old House: We went into one of the houses in the village that had pretty much been left as it originally was before this village had become a tourist attraction. Most of the other houses have either become a hotel, a restaurant, or a souvenir shop! I was surprised this was the case since the whole village has (according to the sign post when you approach it) UNESCO world heritage listing. Well at least from the outside the still look as they did many years ago.
In the photo above you can see what it looks like in a house that is still pretty much like it was 200 years ago. The funny was that this house was filled with so much old stuff there was hardly any room for people! My guess is that all this stuff came from all the other houses when the renovated them to turn them in to hotels, restaurants, and souvenir shops.
